Hi Matteo,
yes, as with most SDKs you have to build and install the flext package
(headers and libraries) first before you can compile and link your
project with it.
See readme.txt and build.txt of the flext package.
It is indeed possible to do without installing but this is not that
straightforward (and not covered by the docs).
